What bullshit of course its not. People will bitch about you, people try to bring you down and make you feel worthless. To argue that high school is the best years of your life is like saying the best part about having an asian parent that hits a child is that at the least the child will be bilingual.

High school is more of a sinister joke. If you do think that high school is apart of the best years of your life... then chances are, you are the problem, you are the reason why other people feel like shit everyday when they wake up to go to school, you are the reason why people have little or no friends at school.

I'm not very good at writing so I will get Canadian Rick Mercer to do this for me. The video is 4yrs old but nevertheless still relevant

Dave Shappelle: When a 15yr old girl is kidnapped she is seen as young and innocent but whereas a 15yr old boy is seen commiting a crime he is portrayed as guilty. Which brings the question: What is 15yrs old?

Well the last part is irrelevant but I just put it in there *see cindy, me fail LOL .. jks*. Like my old engineering teacher said" I got a few enquaries"/just one. 2 people have told me to quit french and heres why I wont.

"You can't compete against the europeans because they know french already".
I hate to burst your bubble of "hahaha, suck shit, your gonna fail" but I will because everybody's doing the same work as me, so nones doing more, nones doing less.

"Nobody does french because it's a dead language".
IF it is a dead language *which it is not*, then isn't that a good thing, I mean latin's nearly dead, its only used in medicine and as the main language of the Vatican city (smallest country in the world). Surely the deader the language the better. FFS its basic economics, the less of something there is, the more value it has.

"Half the people quit, so why try?".
Isn't that an objective to do it?... If you succeed then you will not be making that argument, infact you may even hoard the success that I spent with nights of listening to french songs and reading french philosophy.

"Why don't you do an asian language?"
Because I like Europe. I think that instead of just focusing on Asia, I should focus on the place which gave the world: Socialism, communism, western philisophy, beautiful art, romantic poems and some of the hottest people in the world who not only appear in the fashion industry but also on the news *no srsly LOL*.

"If none did french at school, it means that its a crappy subject".
Many of my friends have studied languages as a hobby (I am no exception). People at my school hate politics, does that mean that its crappy and boring? No. It just means that people don't like it. None chose child studies, does that mean that no1 gives a fuck about children? No. Because chicks think they're cute and I can't take them seriously.

Although I understand how you feel, I will say this (originally from a facebook group): I don't live life to fucking please you.

You think that something is impossible to achieve and whether its actually worth it or you choose to back down because you face a melancholy and terrible reality that your goal will inevitably disappear.

Incase you didn't know I'm doing open high (no thats not the hard part), (this is the hard part). Here are the following class experiences of the students in my class:
- a person who has studied in Germany since yr1
-2 people born in england
- A person who has a french family but cannot read or write in french like a pro
- A person born in Marroco
- About 10 students who have done student exchange to france
To show you how impossible this is I will try and explain this: all european languages are similar, they are romantic (derived from the Romans), everysingle person in that class is billingual in another european language and like I said: "what one picks up after going to charles de gaul airport and living with a family on the outskirts of paris", is what I have to learn from Open hs.

" By the end of this year, half of all the students will drop" my teachers words not mine
I'm below average but the amount of time I have to spend on french is unbelievable.

Depnds how you want to look at it, but from my perspective it aint pretty
